Frequently Asked Questions

Below are a some of the most often asked questions, and our  answers . If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us here.

I’m not registered as disabled. Can you still help?

Yes. We help people with disabilities in the broadest sense.

Do I need a medical referral?

No – you can self refer.

What Happens If a Device Breaks Down?

Remap members use their best endeavors to make devices that are both reliable and robust, but inevitably some do get broken or break down. In these circumstances we try to get them up and running again at no cost to the client. We occasionally make repairs to devices that were once commercially available but for which spares are no longer readily available.

What About Confidentiality?

Details of our clients and their circumstances are treated in complete confidence.

I would like to donate but I’m not sure how much?

It really is entirely your decision and should reflect your personal circumstances. As a guideline, the cost of materials we buy for a project often works out as suitable.

How are Devices Insured?

Devices are custom-made and probably not insurable as such. Remap does however have adequate public and product liability insurance for the work done by Panel members.

Is there anything Remap won’t do?

There are a small number of circumstances where we may have to decline a case:

  • Significant health and safety issues which we cannot resolve.
  • As a general rule, we won’t undertake a case where there is an effective commercially available solution, and if that is applicable, we will advise you accordingly.
  • The cost of the solution is obviously beyond Remap’s means.
